Oppose congressional redistricting that enshrines racial discrimination

To: Rep. Johnson, Sen. Hunley

From: A constituent in Indianapolis, IN

May 10

I'm writing to ask you to protect the integrity of all of Indiana’s voters by rejecting redistricting maps that are racially discriminatory. Three states (AL, TN, and LA) have already introduced redistricting legislation that could weaken or eliminate historically black congressional districts ahead of the midterm elections. The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais has altered a decades-old understanding of the Voting Rights Act, which may result in similar efforts in other states. What are you doing to ensure equality in representation?
