Vote No on HR 2616 — Stop Using Trans Kids as Political Pawns

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Cline

From: A verified voter in Staunton, VA

Vote no on HR 2616, the so-called "Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act." This is not a child protection measure — it is a political weapon being deployed against some of the most vulnerable kids in our schools. Stop using transgender children as political pawns. The bill would force schools to out trans students to their parents before using a preferred name, pronoun, or bathroom that matches their gender identity. For many trans kids, home is not a safe place to be outed. It also bans teaching "gender ideology" as defined by Executive Order 14168, opening the door to book removals and the erasure of trans history from classrooms. The same administration that shut down the Department of Education in the name of keeping government out of schools passed this bill. The hypocrisy is glaring. Trans children deserve to go to school without being used as a midterm election strategy. Vote no.
