This CR that certain Democrats have agreed to vote for will do nothing to benefit American citizens. It does not help federal workers or address the healthcare crisis in this country and will only make things worse. Republicans cannot be trusted to keep their “promises.” Nothing should be passed until the Republican Party and the Trump regime make real concessions. I have voted for Senator Kaine several times, and today I am ashamed of that vote. I urge you to reconsider your stance because if you cave, you will have achieved nothing, and the last 40 days will have been for nothing. Thank you, Senator Warner, for standing up for what is right and supporting your constituents and other Americans. This CR is a disaster that will only further damage this country. Furthermore, Senator Schumer should step down as minority leader. He is unfit for this moment. Democrats have just capitulated at the worst possible time and in the worst possible way. He must take responsibility for this and resign as leader. I am asking that both Senators call for it today. You serve the people and are a line of defense in protecting our democracy, and the Democratic Party is failing miserably.
