Tonight I'm writing to urge you to oppose any resolution funding the government that would give yet another blank check to an authoritarian regime which continues to enact harmful and unconstitutional policies. Congress cannot pass any federal budget bill that does not require the executive branch to end their illegal budget recissions, tariffs, and military invasion of American cities. Likewise, I urge you to oppose any federal appropriations bill that strips funding and access to gender-affirming care. Any budget bill you do pass should protect the accessibility of affordable healthcare by extending the ACA tax credits. Millions of Americans rely on the ACA for coverage, and a 75% increase in the cost of premiums on January 1st will be financially devastating for so many people.
