I am deeply disappointed and concerned that you voted to censure Representative Al Green. The Trump administration is actively violating constitutional law and we are actively dealing with an administration that fully intends to create an authoritarian government. Dictatorship is not fought through maintaining decorum or rolling over. Dictatorship is fought by actively challenging it. Rep. Al Green is standing up for our democracy because other democrats won’t. Instead of policing your colleague, I want to know what you plan to do about the assault on Medicaid, social security, the Department of Education, and so on. You seem to think you represent a Trump district, but what you don’t seem to see is that so many of your constituents rely on the social safety net that your president is dismantling. I am quickly losing confidence in your ability to represent Southwest Washington, especially in the face of willful and intentional dismantling of our liberal democracy.
