Please help re-establish the Protected Areas Policies with DHS

To: Rep. Lee, Sen. Cortez Masto, Sen. Rosen

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

June 12

It is my understanding that the Trump Administration rescinded the Biden administration's Guidelines for Enforcement Actions in or Near Protected Areas with DHS. News media is reporting the traumatic results with ICE showing up at previously protected areas such as schools, churches, and hospitals. This is unecessarily traumatizing children, communities, and US citizens. Initially, Trump claimed he would target undocumented ‘criminals’ for mass deportations, but we have already witnessed and it is being reported by multiple media outlets that it is far from the truth of what is actually happening. Add to this that it is being reported in the news that many people are not being given their constitutional right to due process. Chaos and fear are not a humane and honorable way to govern. It does not make our country great, especially when children become victims of unnecessary cruelty, and from that, they suffer trauma that will affect them for the rest of their lives. It's not a good look for the United States. I read an article online that mentioned this action appears to coincide with "Project 2025 pages or sections: ICE enforcement sensitive zones: 142, 152." Please take action within your authority to stop the steal of our nation's honor and humanity. Please help re-establish the 'Guidelines for Enforcement Actions in or Near Protected Areas.' Thank you.
