An Open Letter

To: Rep. Harrigan, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

From: A constituent in Mooresville, NC

May 5

I am extremely concerned about the increased propensity for political violence in the US. Polls show that 25% of Democrats AND Republicans think political violence is sometimes acceptable. My family, my friends and I are in the 75% that abhors political violence and finds it unacceptable in any circumstance, including all violent rhetoric, AND especially silence when members of YOUR party- at the highest levels of government!!!- use reckless language that contributes to a growing support for violence. This is dangerous and we demand that all of our representatives SPEAK OUT AGAINST ANY FORM OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE/VIOLENT RHETORIC. We’re living in dangerous times. This is not partisan. YOUR speech matters. We need all of your voices to be heard loud and clear.
