Please do not allow any additional funding of ICE until major reforms are implemented to protect Americans. Today, in New Jersey an ICE officer drew his weapon & shot the tires of a fleeing immigrant who, ICE alleges has a criminal record. Regardless of the man’s immigration status & criminal history, this tactic was not only unnecessary, it was also dangerous to any innocent bystanders who could have been injured or killed by a stray or ricochet bullet or hit by the fleeing man’s car. Their tactics must always take into consideration the potential for accidental injury or death. No law enforcement officer in New Jersey would ever be permitted to attempt to shoot tires out without consequences. It must be no different for ICE.
