I am writing to you today as a constituent who is confident that republican and conservative congressmen and politicians no longer care about Americans. The Senate has passed a budget to fund mass deportation, while voting down amendments that would fulfill the Trumps executive order to work to lower the price of groceries and save money on household electric bills. The House is currently looking to pass a budget that will increase the debt ceiling and cut Medicaid and other vital programs to balance the checkbook against trillions of dollars of tax cuts for billionaires. Polls show that 35% of Americans are afraid because of the chaotic actions Trump is taking and the lack of response from Congress. The consumer confidence index just dropped significantly. Constituents are begging their congresspeople to pay attention to issues that help them, rather than supporting the firing of hundreds of thousands of workers. Trump signed an EO on banning DEI and people tripped over themselves to comply. He signed an EO that same day on lowering the price of groceries and nothing has been done. It seems like congresspeople are just not interested in supporting their constituents needs and fighting for their rights and benefits. What are you doing to help your constituents and stop the out of control executive branch? What are you doing to enforce the judicial order to pay out the illegally frozen (impounded) funds that were already authorized by Congress? What are you doing to actually act as a check and balance against the executive branch? Americans are anxious and without your action they'll remember this at the polls. Take action or resign, so a congressperson who actually cares about their constituents can be elected.
