Stop Musk Now

To: Sen. Moody, Rep. Donalds, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Fort Myers, FL

February 12

Musk's business empire is benefiting from the turmoil and staffing changes across federal agencies under the Trump administration. At least 11 agencies have ongoing investigations, complaints or enforcement actions involving Musk's six companies. However, Trump's firing of top officials and resignations by Biden-era regulators have stalled many of these probes. For instance, the National Labor Relations Board is effectively paralyzed after Trump fired three executives, hampering its ability to pursue cases against Musk's firms. At the Securities and Exchange Commission and Federal Election Commission, Democratic departures have left Republican majorities potentially more sympathetic to Musk. This disruption raises concerns about the integrity of these investigations and regulation of Musk's powerful corporations. Proper oversight is crucial to ensure businesses operate ethically and lawfully, protecting workers, investors, and the public interest. A concerted effort seems underway to undermine agencies' ability to scrutinize Musk's empire. Government watchdogs must be allowed to function independently without undue interference. Impartial enforcement of rules and accountability for violations, regardless of the company or individuals involved, is essential for maintaining trust in fair governance and a level playing field for all. A troubling pattern is emerging that demands greater transparency and safeguarding of regulatory processes.
