Thank you for voting against HR 6090, "Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023". This bill encroaches upon free speech by tying criticism of the State of Israel to antisemitism. Including criticism of the State of Israel in the definition of antisemitism dilutes the power of the label, preventing meaningful usage of it within anti-hate work. While it is disappointing the bill passed the House, I felt it important to write you to thank you for standing up for free speech on our campuses, and for a sensible and useful definition of antisemitism. I hope the Senate has the political bravery you've displayed and stops the bill from progressing.
