An Open Letter

To: Rep. DeWitt, Sen. Seabaugh

From: A constituent in Natchitoches, LA

April 4

Louisiana faces significant budgetary challenges that demand responsible and ethical leadership focused on the needs of all residents. The governor's proposed hiring freeze may provide short-term savings, but sustainable solutions require transparent policymaking that prioritizes the wellbeing of working families and the most vulnerable in our communities. We cannot allow political maneuvering or corruption to divert public funds for the benefit of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of education, healthcare, and vital social services. As constituents, we urge our representatives to reject regressive policies that widen inequalities and concentrate resources for a privileged few. Upholding fiscal responsibility means investing in policies and programs that create opportunities for all Louisianans to thrive, not perpetuating a rigged system that favors the interests of a select group. Our state deserves leaders of integrity who will boldly champion the needs of the people over partisan gain or personal enrichment.
