To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee

The unnecessary and excessive use of military forces to suppress peaceful protests and unfairly target immigrant communities is deeply concerning. This administration's actions are eroding the rule of law, undermining human rights, and fostering an environment of fear within our communities. There must be accountability for the unlawful deployment of federal troops and agents against civilians exercising their constitutional rights. Congress has a responsibility to take immediate action by blocking the president's misuse of power and protecting the fundamental rights of peaceful assembly and freedom from persecution. The people's voices and liberties must be safeguarded, not silenced through militarized intimidation. I urge you to publicly denounce these tactics and swiftly pass legislation to withdraw military presence from protest situations and prevent further abuses against vulnerable populations. Upholding human rights, transparent governance, and the sanctity of lawful dissent is imperative to preserving American democratic principles.
