The recent events surrounding the Kennedy Center (KC) is a classic example of the Trump presidency and our “do nothing” Congress. Let’s begin by saying the KC is the one and only memorial to President John F. Kennedy. There are no other memorials in D. C. The cultural arts center has deep meaning given his tragic assignation. Why anyone would feel they have the need or right to add their name in any manner is astonishingly arrogant and disrespectful. The KC is experiencing financial hardship due to malfeasance by Trump and his handpicked board. Nationally recognized artistes no longer wish to perform there after his forced takeover and propaganda. The KC supports thousands of jobs. Not just at the center itself but also local businesses. Not to mention the artists themselves. I guess Trump was so busy loving America he forgot to notice all the jobs he is impacting with his childish behavior. His closure and threats to demolish the building have quickly elevated the hatred of Trump by millions of Americans. Congress isn’t far behind. Congress established the KC and is the ruling body in charge but you have chosen to watch and do nothing. Tear it down and it will stain the Republican Party for years to come. Voters have taken note.
