Remove Section 70302, Safeguard Constitutional Checks and Balances

To: Rep. Edwards, Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd

From: A constituent in Weaverville, NC

May 25

The section of the budget legislation you reference poses a grave threat to our system of checks and balances and separation of powers. Section 70302 would strip Congress of its authority to review and reject misguided regulations from the executive branch. This upends over a century of precedent ensuring no single branch of government accrues unchecked power. Enshrining such an egregious overreach into law would irreparably undermine our democratic institutions and processes. I urge you to take a stand against this unacceptable erosion of Congressional oversight by removing Section 70302 from the final bill. Preserving our constitutional system of co-equal branches must take precedence over any purely partisan aims.
