The budget bill in front of you simply does one thing: move money from the bottom to the top. “Economist Robert Reich points out that Americans making between about $17,000 and $51,000 will lose about $700 a year. On average, Americans with incomes of less than $17,000 will lose more than $1,000 a year. But if you are among the top 0.1% of earners, you’re in luck: you’ll gain nearly $390,000 a year.” Senator, are YOU about to gain $390K a year while ordinary Floridians lose money they can ill-afford? While $700-$1000 a year seems like nothing to you, it is the difference between having just enough to cover all necessary expenses (food, shelter, clothing) and the hard choices of starvation, vagrancy, or rags. Reconsider the provisions in this over-reaching bill and vote in favor of people not profits.
