Please veto Senate Bill 293

To: Gov. DeWine

From: A constituent in Painesville, OH

December 10

As you know, Senate Bill 293 is a harmful voting bill that would do away with the four-day grace period for postmarked ballots arriving after election day. The bill also contains a hot mess of unfunded provisions including citizenship verification and data checks that will drastically increase the number of provisional ballots, and place a burden on elections officials. As I poll worker I find all of these to be too unnecessary and overly restrictive! Please veto Senate Bill 293. When you signed House Bill 458, the other voter suppression bill in 2023, you said we didn’t need more changes. You said "I believe with the enactment of the new election integrity provisions in House Bill 458, this matter should be settled, and I do not expect to see any further statutory changes to Ohio voting procedures while I am Governor." Please keep this promise and veto SB 293!
