S. 269: Ending Improper Payments to Deceased People Act which, its sponsors claim, would decrease improper Social Security payments to dead people by increasing coordination between federal and state agencies. The impetus for this bill may have been false claims made earlier this year by Elon Musk and debunked by the Center for Retirement Research. Don’t be fooled.
