Speak out loudly and publicly against the FBI's raids on the Ohio Organizing Collaborative. Agents raided OOC's offices and the homes of its staff in what the Brennan Center for Justice rightly called "an outrageous fishing expedition" and "an egregious abuse of law enforcement for political ends." This is a voter suppression operation dressed up as law enforcement, timed to intimidate organizers weeks before a competitive November election.
The pretext here is paper-thin. Frank LaRose referred 1,200 cases to the DOJ claiming noncitizen voter fraud, but that claim has never been substantiated, and it resulted in Ohio handing over the sensitive personal data of nearly 8 million registered voters to the federal government. Now the FBI is raiding a coalition that has organized Ohio communities since 2007. Rep. Shontel Brown called this exactly what it is: a systematic effort by the Trump administration and Kash Patel's FBI to attack our elections. I agree. This pattern of targeting voting infrastructure ahead of midterms should alarm every elected official who believes in free and fair elections. Say so publicly, and demand an immediate end to these politically motivated raids.
