We cannot afford further cuts to mental health services. Demand for these critical resources is only increasing, and slashing funding will leave many vulnerable individuals without access to the care they desperately need. Mental health is just as vital as physical health, yet it often gets marginalized and underfunded. We have an ethical imperative to safeguard robust mental health services for all who require them. Not only is it the compassionate thing to do, but ensuring access to mental healthcare provides long-term benefits by allowing people to manage their conditions, remain productive members of society, and avoid costly emergencies down the line. I urge you to prioritize protecting and bolstering funding for mental health initiatives to meet the needs of our community. The consequences of neglecting this issue will prove far more costly.
