Reject the One Big Beautiful Bill—Protect Our Democracy and Our Families

I am writing with deep concern regarding the “One Big Beautiful Bill” recently passed by the House. While cloaked in promises of reform, this legislation jeopardizes our nation’s fiscal responsibility, undermines our system of checks and balances, and places undue hardship on families, seniors, and children.
The bill’s permanent tax cuts threaten to balloon the national deficit by trillions, all while slashing essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP—programs that ensure vulnerable Americans have a safety net. Provisions that limit judicial oversight and centralize power in the executive branch erode the very foundations of our democracy. These are not the actions of a balanced government; they are signals of authoritarian drift.
I urge you to reject this legislation. Now is the time to show moral courage and integrity—not to bow to political pressure or partisan extremes. Please stand for responsible governance and for the well-being of those you serve.
