Vote NO on the SAVE Act

To: Sen. Cortez Masto, Sen. Rosen

From: A verified voter in Reno, NV

April 10

Well. I really didn't think I needed to ask a Democrat to vote against a bill intended to disenfranchise women, disabled people, and rural folks, but since four Democrats in the House voted for the SAVE act, I suppose I need to be clear. I am a woman, a disabled veteran, and a lifelong resident of Nevada. Having been married and changed my name, the SAVE act would prevent me from registering to vote. This is absolutely egregious, and I cannot believe anyone would vote for this heinous legislation. In school, we learned about Jim Crow era tactics such as the poll tax and literacy checks used to prevent Black people from voting. This act is nothing less than a poll tax, and it is an abomination and an insult to everyone who fought and died for the right to vote. I don't care what it takes, whether it's filibustering, talking your Republican colleagues out of voting for this monstrosity, or what. But do not support the SAVE Act in any way, shape, or form.
