Dear Senator, I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the confirmation of Todd Blanche for Attorney General of the United States. The Attorney General serves as the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, charged with upholding the Constitution, protecting civil rights, and administering equal justice under the law. This vital role requires complete institutional independence and unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Mr. Blanche’s record demonstrates a troubling willingness to blur the boundary between public service and personal advocacy. Throughout his tenure as Deputy and Acting Attorney General, Mr. Blanche has repeatedly prioritized political loyalty over Department of Justice protocol and independence. Transitioning directly from serving as the President's personal defense attorney to directing the agency that investigates federal offenses presents an irreconcilable conflict of interest. Rather than insulating the Justice Department from political influence, his actions have eroded public trust in federal law enforcement and compromised the Department's historic commitment to neutral, objective justice. The American people deserve an Attorney General who acts as a custodian of the law rather than a defender of individual political interests. Confirming Mr. Blanche risks permanently undermining the integrity, impartiality, and public credibility of the Department of Justice. I urge you to exercise your constitutional responsibility of Advice and Consent to reject this nomination. Please vote NO on Todd Blanche’s confirmation.
