Abandon the tax cuts

To: Sen. Grassley

From: A constituent in Ames, IA

May 7

Why are the tax cuts a given? They overwhelmingly benefit the wealthy and corporations and they require cuts in programs that sustain the disabled, the elderly, and the poorest among us. Even with drastic cuts to expenditures, you will add 3 to 4 trillion dollars to our 36 trillion dollar national debt. I heard you say a couple days ago that if you don't cut expenditures, that would be fiscally irresponsible and it will require the biggest tax increase in recent history. I think the tax cuts are what is fiscally irresponsible and I ask you to speak out against them.
