If you continue to act as if you don’t understand that we are in the middle of a constitutional crisis and a fascist takeover will ensure the end of the United States as a democracy. You need to act, and act NOW. Republicans are no longer your colleagues and they’re not your friends. They have been radicalized and they are not here to make the country work. They don’t believe the rules should apply to them. Rules only apply to YOU, and to us, your non-multi-millionaire constituents, and those rules will keep changing. Stop voting to confirm Trump lackeys like Marco Rubio. DO NOT confirm Russell Vought. Do not vote to confirm ANY of the nominees until you get a handle on the Trump administration. Yes, Democrats are in the minority, but there are still things you can do. Don’t make it easy for the fascists to take over. OBJECT to unanimous consent every. single. time. Make them take the hours it takes to override your objection. Insist on a quorum for everything. They are trying to gut our government, so make them work for it. The eyes of history are watching you. Do you want to be on the list of facilitators? Because that’s where you’ll be unless you fight. for. all. of. us. You can’t ride this out. Trump wants to be a dictator. The Republicans know there will be a giant midterm backlash to what they are doing right now. Impeachment proceedings against Trump could succeed. They know this, and it means that they will do absolutely everything they can to stop midterms from happening. Martial law? Absolutely. A war? Why not - it’s a great distraction. Get Elon Musk out of our government. He is unelected, and he is not a government employee. Why does he have control over Treasury payment systems? Why does he have federal employees’ bank account numbers and PII? Ask this and other “awkward” questions publicly, often, and loudly. Make Republicans answer. Please do the job that we trusted you to do when we voted. Live up to the oath you took to the Constitution of the United States when you became a senator. Or we are all lost.
