Fix Washington’s Health Insurance Oligopoly

To: Sen. Fortunato, Rep. Stokesbary, Gov. Inslee, Rep. Robertson

Three times in the past year or so, we have received a letter from Premera Blue Cross that they are terminating their relationship with our healthcare providers. This is apparently the new normal in the negotiation relationship between healthcare providers and insurance companies. This behavior is unacceptable and leaves us worrying and wondering where we can get healthcare, it is especially stressful for those of us who have chronic conditions that require regular care. Something needs to be done about this, insurance companies cannot treat the people who depend on them for coverage in this harmful manner.
