The House Democrats' report released July 3rd — "From Vanity to Insanity" — lays out a serious allegation that demands a full investigation: Trump deliberately gutted America250, the bipartisan semiquincentennial organization, and rerouted donor money to Freedom 250, his personal vanity celebration. Whistleblowers say donors believed their contributions were going to America250. They weren't. That's fraud, and it happened on the occasion of America's 250th birthday.
The results speak for themselves. Freedom 250's opening ceremony on June 24th drew roughly 1,000 people — not the 45,000 Trump claimed. Artists dropped out. A plywood replica of a proposed monument to Trump himself began falling apart days after it was erected. Meanwhile, America250-organized events in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, and New York drew massive crowds with headliners like Chris Stapleton, Christina Aguilera, and Mary J. Blige. The bipartisan celebration Trump sidelined worked. His replacement didn't.
This isn't a political dispute about aesthetics. If donors were defrauded and a congressionally recognized organization was deliberately sabotaged to clear the field for a presidential ego project, that's a matter of public accountability. I want you to support a formal investigation into the diversion of America250 funds and the conduct surrounding Freedom 250's creation.
