I'm asking you to support any measure that redirects ICE agents away from street-level enforcement operations in our communities.
These raids tear apart families and create fear that keeps people from going to work, taking their kids to school, or seeking medical care. When ICE agents patrol neighborhoods and conduct street arrests, they're not making us safer. They're destabilizing communities and separating parents from children, often with no due process.
At least pulling ICE agents away from kidnapping people on the streets is a good thing. Vote to reduce funding for street enforcement operations and redirect those resources toward processing asylum claims and reducing the backlog in immigration courts. Cutting their budget for these operations is within your power, and it's what you should do.
