Please listen to your constituents this time. There is 30% approval for this extreme transfer of wealth from those in need to the ALREADY wealthy. I'm happy to pay my fair share in taxes. I WANT them to go to national parks, libraries, public schools, museums, helping the needy, science, medical research, climate solutions, weather monitoring, disaster relief. You know.... all the things that make this an enjoyable place to live and feel safe. What I DO NOT, under any circumstances want, is for my tax dollars to go toward a masked gestapo gathering up brown people from schools, home depots, churches, THEIR OWN CITIZENSHIP HEARINGS. We've been repeatedly lied to about what this is. Rounding up the worst of the worst? Right. Hard working immigrants going through the proper procedures to gain citizenship, reporting to court, working, paying taxes, serving our country, playing high school soccer, going to college - those are the ones I'm seeing rounded up while Trump and his cronies are letting cartel members, rapists, traffickers, come and go freely. Some even get to stay at Mar-a-Lago and tour the white house. I wish this was all a sick joke, but it isn't. This period of enabling bigotry, racism, and classism will forever stain our US History books. I also DO NOT want to give my tax dollars to a disgusting charade of human rights violations - complete with merchandise, no doubt lining the pockets of this billionaire boys club. Alligator Alcatraz? Really? You think arming this gang of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers with more money than we give to the United States Marines just so they can live out their dream of slamming a brown person into a van to be sent to a life in a torture prison or a country they've never been to is a good investment? Explain that to me. Explain how this is in everyone's best interest, enough that you'd vote for this while 80% of people are against it. The ICE budget is $8 Billion now. You've voted to give them nearly $175 billion. That's over 20x the havoc we are witnessing now!!! How much do you hate immigrants? I don't want one cent of my money funding that concentration camp, the agents, the flights, El Salvador, for profit detention centers, Kristi Noem, etc. In addition, you've taken away clear paths to citizenship. Reduced processing has intentionally slowed things down, the fees are higher, wait times longer, those with protected status have had it revoked, birthright citizenship is no longer. Call this what it is please - MAWA. Making America White Again at the cost of everything that once made this country the best, brightest, most advanced in the world. RIP USA.
