Stop Big Beautiful Bill

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the temporary restraining orders clause in the OBBB and the excessive funding allocated for border militarization. The temporary restraining orders clause raises significant concerns regarding due process and the potential for unjust consequences for vulnerable individuals, i.e., people without money to spend on their own defense. Such measures undermine the values our nation stands for, including fairness and justice, and are in fact unconstitutional and un-American. This is a clause that further guts the justice system, insures justice for the wealthy only. Additionally, I believe that allocating obscene amounts of taxpayer money toward border ‘security’; 470 billion for border militarization, $46.5 B for more walls, $5 B for CBP facilities, and $4,1B for hiring more ICE agents, is not the solution to our immigration challenges. Instead of funding enforcement measures, we should invest in community-based programs, legal assistance for immigrants, and policies that address the root causes of migration. A humane approach aligns with our national values, fosters better relationships with our neighbors, and promotes safe and orderly migration. This isn’t about border safety and security – it’s about fear, and it’s un-American. This bill, should it pass the Senate, intends to add an additional $4 trillion over the next ten years to the deficit. I’ll point out to you that we haven’t paid off the $7 trillion that was added to the deficit the last time this man was president. This isn’t conservatism, this is power and control, and it falls embarrassingly short for a party claiming to want to make sound financial decisions. The GOP has failed miserably to support Americans. This is an opportunity to make a decision supporting what most Americans want. We don’t want our education system gutted. We don’t want massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. We want a country whose government has the people's best interests at the center of its decision-making. We want a country that focuses on helping and supporting its citizens. The Democrats want what most Americans want. The Republicans, to their shame, want power, control and corruption, and we know it. We see it and we don’t like it.
