Vote No on Tina Descovich for Ethics Commissioner

To: Sen. Baxley

From: A constituent in Winter Garden, FL

January 9

I write to express my strong opposition to the appointment of Tina Descovich to the Florida Commission on Ethics. As a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, Tina represents the antithesis of ethics and morals. She has played a significant role in undermining our public education system, increased the political division and violent discord in our state. Her vitriolic rhetoric has had real harm on the parents, teachers and students in our state and nation. But even before she founded Moms for Liberty, she made a name for herself with her unscrupulous activities while serving as a Brevard County Public School Board Member and during her election campaigns. Moms for Liberty is an anti-government extremist organization according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Moms for Liberty has disrupted our schools, costing taxpayers time and money. Its members have harassed educators and students, leading to legal actions. We cannot afford to have someone associated with such a group serving on the Commission on Ethics. I urge you to reconsider this appointment in the best interest of our state and its education system. I’m sure that there are much better candidates that the Governor can choose from that don’t undermine the integrity of the committee and their role in our state government.
