Request for Oversight: Misuse of the America250 Commission The America250 Commission—established by Congress to plan the 250th anniversary of the United States—has been hijacked by political operatives and corporate sponsors to glorify a convicted felon and promote authoritarianism. On June 14, 2025, funds from the America250 Foundation helped stage a Trump-aligned military parade that included: • Donald Trump signing the U.S. flag, a clear violation of U.S. Flag Code (Title 4, Section 8(g)) • MAGA supporters desecrating the POW/MIA flag by printing the faces of January 6th insurrectionists onto it • Corporate-sponsored military units, with divisions introduced like advertisements • A national stage for a man convicted of 34 felonies and responsible for inciting a violent insurrection This event was deliberately timed to coincide with the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary—but instead of honoring service members, it became a Trump birthday parade, rebranded with fascist symbolism, cult rhetoric, and corporate branding. Sponsors of this parade included: Tech & Trump-Aligned Firms: Palantir (Peter Thiel), Oracle (Larry Ellison), Coinbase Defense Contractors: Lockheed Martin, Stellantis Retail Giants: Amazon, Walmart, FedEx, Coca‑Cola Lifestyle Brands: UFC (Dana White), Scotts Miracle-Gro Other Sponsors: Nextdoor, Phorm Energy These companies helped transform a taxpayer-authorized national commission into a corporate-funded propaganda vehicle, glorifying one man over the American people. America250 was created to honor all Americans—not one man, not a party, and not a movement built on criminality and violence. The misuse of this public platform in coordination with private corporate interests and partisan propaganda demands urgent congressional oversight. I am requesting the following: 1. A formal congressional investigation into the America250 Commission and Foundation 2. A full audit of its corporate sponsorships, leadership, and financial activity 3. Legislative or regulatory action to protect national symbols and events from political exploitation The 250th anniversary of the United States should reflect our democratic values—not be hijacked by a convicted felon using the Army’s 250th anniversary as a personal birthday rally. Take action before our nation’s history is sold to the highest bidder.
