Oppose the Misuse of Military Resources for Trump’s Self-Glorifying Parade I am writing as your constituent to express my deep concern and outrage regarding reports that former President Donald Trump is planning a military parade on June 14—coincidentally, his birthday—under the guise of honoring the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. Let’s be clear: this is not about patriotism or honoring our military. This is about a man with a history of disrespecting service members attempting to hijack a national institution to glorify himself. It is a grotesque abuse of power and a transparent attempt to manipulate public resources for personal gain. This proposed event represents fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars: • Fraud, by disguising a narcissistic spectacle as a tribute to the Army. • Waste, with potentially tens of millions of dollars spent on a dictator-style display. • Abuse, by exploiting military personnel, equipment, and symbolism for political theater. Donald Trump has called fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers,” skipped military memorials for golf, tried to cut veterans’ healthcare and jobs, and used his position to enrich himself while attacking our democratic institutions. Now, he wants the very troops he disrespected to march for him? This is not leadership—it is authoritarianism. Our military serves the Constitution and the American people, not the ego of any one man. I strongly urge you to take immediate steps to: • Oppose any congressional or executive action that supports this parade. • Demand transparency on the costs and justification. • Prevent the politicization of our military for personal or campaign purposes.
