Protect our allies, stand against Russia's aggression

To: Rep. Miller-Meeks, Sen. Grassley, Sen. Ernst

From: A constituent in Iowa City, IA

March 4

During Trump's last term, he threatened Ukraine in order to get what he wanted. Now he is at it again. Pausing aid that has been approved by Congress trying to get Ukraine to agree to give up their mineral rights, the money from which could help fund their reconstructuon after the war is over. The pause in support, which was approved by Congress, will allow Russia to continue their war against Ukraine while Ukraine's supplies dwindle and more deaths will occur. Those deaths can and should be attributed to the pause. The president of the United States, who last week publicly berated an ally in front of television cameras, who has for weeks targeted our allies including Ukraine as a bully and not as a partner, is trying once again to blackmail Ukraine. What will be the point at which you say enough is enough? He has already crossed beyond my ethical boundaries and I haven't even started talking about the plans he must have to profit that are being enabled by gutting the corporate transparency act. He is running roughshod over our relationships with our allies, over our democracy. You can and should help rein him in.
