One more slip down the slope of fascism and authoritarianism.
You may not agree with Jimmy Kimmel’s words, but, as elected officials, you must defend his constitutional rights under the First Amendment, to say them. I don’t agree with Brian Kilmeade’s suggestion that homeless Americans be killed by involuntary lethal injection, yet there is no symmetric call by the FCC that he be removed from the air. The difference between these two cases is simply that one is critical of the President and his policies, and the other kisses his ring.
Which statement is truly more abhorrent - the joke that an assassin may have MAGA ties, or whether wholesale genocide be performed?
It is past time to take your oath of office seriously, and condemn these un-American, anti-democratic, unconstitutional actions by our Administration. To stand by idly simply means that you are undeserving of your office, and place its power and your personal gain above those you have been elected to represent, and above the Constitution that you have pledged to defend.
For God’s sake take action before our Republic is lost.
