Request Support for HB 2481

To: Sen. Salomon

From: A constituent in Edmonds, WA

February 3

I’m writing as a constituent to ask for your support for HB 2481, recently introduced by Rep. Cindy Ryu. This bill would prohibit surveillance-based price discrimination and surge pricing for grocery and retail goods, require transparent posted prices, and protect consumers from unfair pricing practices. As far as I can tell, there has not yet been a public endorsement from you on this bill. Given your leadership on consumer protection and economic fairness, I urge you to consider co-sponsoring or publicly backing HB 2481. This legislation would strengthen protections for Washington families by preventing price variability based on personal data and demand, helping ensure fair access to essential goods. Please let me know if you intend to support HB 2481 and what you believe your role could be in advancing this important consumer protection measure.
