H.R. 3887: Compromising Access to Essential Care for Vulnerable Youth This legislation, H.R. 3887, fails to protect the well-being of transgender and gender non-conforming youth by restricting access to essential healthcare services. Denying gender-affirming care can have severe negative impacts on mental health and increase risks of depression, anxiety, and suicide among these vulnerable young people. Medical decisions should be made between patients, families, and healthcare providers - not dictated by politicians. All children deserve access to the highest quality, evidence-based medical care. I urge you to oppose this discriminatory bill that compromises the health and safety of transgender youth. Instead, support policies that expand access to gender-affirming care and protects the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals to receive appropriate medical treatment.
