An Open Letter

To: Justices Court

From: A constituent in North Beach, MD

June 10

Martial Law Is Here — Speak Now or Be Forever Complicit To the Honorable Justices of the United States Supreme Court: You took an oath to defend the Constitution. Where are you? Right now, Donald Trump is unleashing active-duty U.S. Marines on American soil. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has confirmed that 700 Marines from 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment have been deployed to Los Angeles — without the governor’s request, without invoking the Insurrection Act, and in clear violation of the Tenth Amendment. This is not a gray area. This is illegal. It’s a military occupation of an American city, ordered unilaterally by a president bent on authoritarian control. Trump is weaponizing Title 10, ICE, and federal force to target immigrants, sanctuary cities, and political opponents — while baiting civil unrest to justify expanding his power. He said in 2020: “We can’t call in the National Guard unless we’re requested by a governor.” Now he’s doing exactly that — ignoring state sovereignty, ignoring the law, and daring the system to stop him. So stop him. Your silence is not neutrality. It is betrayal. While journalists are being gassed and shot, while peaceful protestors are surrounded by Marines, and while citizens are dragged from courthouses and schools, you sit idle. The Constitution isn’t being tested — it’s being trampled. This is martial law in all but name. And if you wait for the perfect case, the perfect challenge, the perfect moment — there may be nothing left to defend. You are not powerless. You are not spectators. You are Article III. Speak. Out. Now. This is your test. History will record whether you stood with the Republic — or watched it fall from the bench.
