Restore 442nd WWII history to Army website records

To: Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis, Rep. Foxx

From: A constituent in Granite Falls, NC

March 15

The erasure of the history of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team from the U.S. Army's official website is a disservice to the immense sacrifices and valor displayed by these Japanese-American soldiers during World War II. This highly decorated unit overcame intense racism and prejudice at home to serve their country with exceptional courage on the battlefields of Europe. Their remarkable legacy deserves to be honored and preserved, not obscured from public knowledge. The deletion of this webpage risks minimizing the contributions of these heroes and the struggles they endured. Congress should look into how this historical record can be restored on the Army website. I urge you to rectify this omission and reinstate the 442nd's rightful place in recounting the military's history. Their story is an integral part of our nation's World War II narrative that must be accessible to all Americans.
