speak out against concentration camps in the US

To: Rep. Lieu

From: A verified voter in Los Angeles, CA

July 18

I'm a member of Indivisible Westside Los Angeles. I am dismayed and appalled by the news reports that are coming out of the concentration camp in the Everglades. This facility should never have been built, and its very existence is a stain on the soul of this nation. No human being should be kept in these conditions. I am asking you to speak out against these atrocities and do everything you can to prevent people from being sent there. I am also once again asking that you call for the impeachment of Donald Trump. His unlawful acts are many, up to and including illegally invading the city of Los Angeles, which you represent. You took an oath to uphold the Constitution. Not uphold the Constitution when your party is in power, not uphold the Constitution when it’s politically expedient, but uphold the Constitution. Full Stop. Your rhetoric about Donald Trump’s behavior doesn’t match your actions. If you truly believe that he is an existential threat to this nation, then act like it. The U.S. Constitution provides impeachment as a method to remove tyrants from power, and your silence on this issue is deafening. How can you claim to be fighting back against Trump when you are unwilling to even say that he should be removed from office? I would like to see a statement from you specifically about your support for impeachment. Lastly, I am disappointed in your yes vote on yesterday's CLARITY act, which does not provide any meaningful protections for people when it comes to crypto. Crypto is a pyramid scheme that does nothing but enrich those at the top. It has no place in our society. Thank you for your time and attention.
