I am writing to urge you to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump under Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution for high crimes and misdemeanors that threaten American national security and our alliances. President Trump recently sent a letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre that was forwarded by the White House National Security Council to ambassadors. In it, he claimed he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping "8 Wars PLUS" and stated that because Norway didn't award him the prize, he no longer feels obligated to think purely of peace. He then argued for U.S. acquisition of Greenland, falsely claiming no written documents establish Danish sovereignty, and concluded that "The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland." These claims are factually incorrect. Trump did not end eight wars. Greenland has been Danish territory for centuries, with numerous written documents establishing sovereignty, including some signed by the United States. Greenlanders are Danish citizens. Denmark is a NATO treaty ally. The implications are catastrophic. Financial markets are already anticipating a damaging trade war. Trump appears willing to risk military occupation of Greenland, which would mean U.S. forces potentially killing Danish citizens and losing American soldiers to force citizens of a treaty ally to become American against their will. This would be more complex than the Iraq occupation and would permanently damage relationships with European allies, as well as India, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. Years of diplomacy and billions in trade are at risk. Trump's obsession with the Nobel Prize and his detachment from reality regarding grammar, history, and international law demonstrate unfitness for office. His actions constitute a clear threat to American interests and our constitutional system. Congress has the constitutional authority and obligation to remove a president who endangers national security through irrational and dangerous conduct. I urge you to act immediately to protect American interests and our alliances by initiating impeachment proceedings. Trump’s actions risk destabilizing the entire world and inch us closer to a WWIII. DO SOMETHING !!!!
