I am outraged by today's news that Trump's hand-picked Kennedy Center Board has voted to add his name to the performing arts center. This is flagrantly illegal. But the rule of law is apparently dead as far as the U.S. Congress is concerned. (Please prove me wrong about that!) I had been trying to persuade my friends to continue attending concerts at the Kennedy Center. It's valid to consider pausing one's memberships, donations, and volunteer service, but don't penalize the musicians, I have been saying. But this latest? I just don't know what to say anymore. Please contact the ex-officio KC Board members to find out what really went on at the Board meeting. I have read that it was not a proper meeting and that at least some Board members were shut out of the ability to vote. Regardless, it appears that an Act of Congress would be necessary to change the name of the Kennedy Center. Just like the Department of Defense. Don't be doormats! Fight back! Use your power! Please!
