I am writing to you to urge you not consider a change in democratic leadership, and not allow Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer to lead the Democratic Party. In this blue wave that we all saw a few days ago it is apparent, the American people want change. However, Hakeem Jeffries has already made it abundantly clear he wants business as usual, stating that already the party will not focus on accountability. The Democratic Party has suffered greatly the past few years due to poor ineffective and outdated leadership from Jeffries and Schumer two incredibly establishment-based leaders. The American people want change, they want accountability. Newer democrats such as Abdul El-Sayed being elected show this. The past two years of the Trump administration have been horrific. We have experienced constitutional crisis after constitutional crisis. America citizens have been murdered in the street by ICE - the new secret police. Their has been lawlessness and no action or accountability. It is not time for business as usual. Businesses as usual during the Trump era has done nothing but hurt the party and its credibility. I am a lifelong democrat. I have voted in every single election since I was 18 years old. I have never once abandoned the party even in times where I am incredibly displeased. But not all are like me. Many crossed lines because they wanted something different. CHANGE, ACCOUNTABILITY, ACTION. We are tired of the Trump administration lying to us and getting away with it. The time for change is now and Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have made it apparent they do not want to move with it. I urge you, for the sake of not only our party but our country to listen to what the people are saying and move into new leadership.
