This deplorable situation involving the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia and the refusal to facilitate his return as ordered by the Supreme Court is a gross violation of human rights and the rule of law. By dismissing the court's ruling and denying due process, the Salvadoran and U.S. governments are undermining fundamental democratic principles and enabling the mistreatment of vulnerable migrants. This unjust detention at the notorious CECOT prison, premised on unsubstantiated gang allegations, is morally reprehensible and a stain on both nations. Expediting Abrego Garcia's safe repatriation should be an utmost priority to uphold basic human dignity and restore faith in the integrity of our legal systems. Perpetuating this injustice is an unacceptable defiance of judicial authority and international norms of ethical conduct.
