POTUS Continues to Ignore the Constitution — Please Help!!
To: Rep. Webster
From: A verified voter in Orlando, FL
February 28
The President attacked a foreign country without formal Congressional approval. I wish I could expect you to do something about it, but I sadly know you will support whatever President Trump does simply because of partisan lines.
You posted on Facebook, “May God be with the brave men and women of the United States military.” What good are your prayers if you refuse to uphold your sworn duties as a House Rep? My husband is scheduled to deploy this year and the odds that I will become a widow and our two small girls will become fatherless have just skyrocketed because you and the rest of MAGA aren’t willing to do what’s right if it means going against President Trump.
You also wrote, “President Trump afforded the Iranian regime opportunity to secure a deal, but the regime again crossed the President’s redline.” You know that we used to have a deal, right? One that President Trump pulled us out of? It wasn’t perfect, but working on something already present is a thousand times better than what was done.
Additionally, you wrote, “The Iranian regime has time and again proven itself to be in opposition to U.S. interests, values, and security. I have long agreed with President Donald J. Trump that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon.” I agree with this. However, the **how** is as important as the **what**. Even if this were a just war — and I do not believe it is — the how of its happening is unconstitutional. I think you know that, which is why your post is so vague.
Please uphold the Constitution. Please. Please do what you can to keep my husband from becoming a statistic.
