Vote no on the $70 billion immigration enforcement package. This bill misallocates taxpayer money on priorities that don't address what Americans actually need.
The package includes $38 billion for ICE and $26 billion for Border Patrol, plus an additional $1 billion for Secret Service security upgrades tied to a White House ballroom project. That's $1 billion in public funds for what was supposed to be privately funded construction. Calling it a security necessity doesn't change the fact that taxpayers are now covering a vanity project while families struggle to afford healthcare and basic necessities.
Americans need investment in healthcare, not expanded immigration enforcement that separates families and wastes resources. We need a government that spends responsibly on programs that improve people's lives, not one that funnels billions into enforcement agencies and luxury renovations. The reconciliation process is being used to bypass debate and ram through spending that serves political theater rather than public good.
Reject this package. Redirect these resources toward healthcare access, infrastructure, and programs that actually strengthen communities.
