Homeland Security Appropriations Bill
To: Sen. Graham, Sen. Scott
From: A verified voter in Greenville, SC
January 27
I’m writing in regards to the Homeland Security appropriations bill.
I'm asking the Senator not to support any bill that funds ICE without enforceable oversight and spending restrictions written directly into the appropriations language.
Specifically, I want the Senator to support binding conditions on ICE funding, including independent oversight, public reporting on use of force and deaths in custody, and automatic funding consequences if ICE fails to comply.
I'm concerned that letting this bill fail into a continuing resolution would actually give ICE more discretion with fewer guardrails. So I expect the Senator to oppose cloture or final passage unless those conditions are included.
Please record my position and let me know where the Senator stands. Thank you.
