Politicians are not medical experts. They constantly make false statements about how a women's body works. Examples from politicians I heard recently - *Women can force the menstrual blood out. *Women can force the sperm out. *Women can stop themselves from getting pregnant when raped if they truly don't want to, as if to suggest women who are pregnant as a result of rape actually wanted it. *Women can end a pregnancy with brain waves. *Women could keep their knees together to stop a rapist. None of these things are true or even remotely based in science. Men should not be legislating our reproduction when they don't even understand how the female body works. Here is the how it actually works. It takes about a week from fertilization to reach the blastocyst stage. This is when the cluster of 100 -200 cells form a fluid filled ball and attach to the uterine wall. (The day after medication, often referred to a Plan B, cause the uterine wall to flush...have a period. This is not an abortion. It stops pregnancy from ever occurring) This process of having period already happens every month, until a woman is no loger fertile or when an egg becomes inplanted in the uterine wall. 3 weeks after successful fertilization of an egg the cluster of cells are refered to as an embryo. 8 weeks after successful fertilization, at the beginning of the 9th week, a embryo is now offically a fetus. 10-12 weeks after successful fertilization the fetus has a heart that is fully formed. At 22 weeks the fetus survival rate is about 30%. Which means it is dependent on the host to survive. Leave women's fertility and healthcare to doctors!
