I’m writing to express my strong opposition to the so-called “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” While its name suggests unity and progress, the reality is far more troubling: this bill concentrates too many disparate issues into a single, opaque package, bypassing the transparent, deliberative process our democracy demands.
Bundling unrelated or loosely connected policies into one sweeping piece of legislation is not only poor governance—it’s an affront to accountability. It denies lawmakers and citizens alike the chance to evaluate, debate, and shape individual components on their own merit. The result is a take-it-or-leave-it proposition that forces compromises no one truly supports, and buries controversial or harmful measures inside a bill that few will read in full.
Even if there are provisions within the bill that deserve serious consideration, they should be introduced, debated, and voted on independently. Rushing them through under a banner of artificial unity is not leadership—it’s legislative coercion.
We deserve a government that legislates in the open, with clarity, and with respect for the intelligence and will of the people. I urge you to reject the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” and insist on a process that reflects the democratic values you were elected to uphold.
