help support citizens who need snap/WIC

To: Gov. Evers

From: A constituent in Milwaukee, WI

November 4

I am writing as a concerned Wisconsin resident to urge you and your administration to take immediate action to support families struggling with food insecurity across our state. The growing need for assistance is clear, and too many of our neighbors are being forced to make impossible choices between feeding their families and covering other basic necessities. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a vital lifeline for thousands of Wisconsinites, yet current benefits are not keeping pace with the rising cost of living and food prices. Many families who were just getting by are now finding their benefits stretched thin, leaving children, seniors, and working families hungry. I am asking you to work with state agencies and federal partners to release emergency funds, explore state-level supplemental benefits, and expand access to resources for those who are falling through the cracks. We have the ability—and the responsibility—to do more here in Wisconsin to ensure that no one in our communities goes hungry. We are strongest when we care for one another. In times of hardship, government must be not only a regulator but a protector—a force for compassion, dignity, and stability. I ask that you prioritize food security and use every available tool to get relief to those who need it most. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter and for your continued service to the people of Wisconsin. I trust in your leadership to take meaningful action for our citizens.
